I started off as a traditional painter, with oil as a favorite medium. Enamored with every single tool of the trade, from brushes and canvasses to paints, sponges, my beautiful wooden easel, seduced by the accompanying perfumes and the almost magical atmosphere, I couldn’t really imagine changing a thing – and yet, things have changed.

My first digital paintings were built on top of my scanned drawings. Creating these “mixed media” paintings was the gentle transition I very much needed, as it was crucial in my acceptance of the computer as an artistic tool. That is how I began to use the computer canvas in much the same way as I would use the traditional canvas. While my older works are, for the most part, oil on canvas, my latest paintings are hand-painted on a Cintiq pen-display using a stylus instead of a paintbrush.
