The world is not flat

The beginner, through inexperience and fear will usually take a fixed view of their subject. They will pin themselves to one spot and hope that all will become clear from that one viewpoint.

Wrong! You need to peer around corners to know the world is not flat. Always make sketches from behind, in front and to the side of your subject.
